St. Francis Xavier - Growing Together in Faith and Compassion

SPRING 2026 CCS NEWSLETTER

At Saint Francis Xavier, the school community continues to live out the year’s theme: “In the One, We Are One,” celebrating the ways faith, service, and shared experiences unite students and families.

2026 began with Catholic Schools Week, themed “Unlock the Treasure of Catholic Education.” Students participated in dress-up days, games, and a school-wide treasure hunt that revealed the true treasure of SFX—its students! We also celebrated the success of our annual SFX Rocks school fundraiser, an evening of music, dancing, and community that raised strong support for the school. We are incredibly grateful for everyone that gave generously to make the evening a success!

In February, fifth graders spent three days at their annual environmental camp, building teamwork and outdoor skills through rock climbing, cross-country skiing, fat-tire biking, archery, and more. On February 27, the school joined the global movement for Rare Disease Day, raising awareness and support for those living with rare conditions. Students and staff wore purple in solidarity, while families helped lead activities highlighting that no one is alone and every story matters.

In March, AAA (Arts, and Academic Achievement) Week showcased student creativity, culminating in a talent show on March 13th. Kindergarten students have also enjoyed visits from Mystery Readers, parents who surprise them with their favorite children’s book, bringing stories and excitement into the classroom.

The Lenten season began with a school-wide Mass led by fifth graders, where our community joined together to reflect, renew our hearts, and prepare for Easter. For our Lenten service project, Students are participating in Pack the Porch, donating cereal boxes for families in need, and will create a domino chain with the boxes at the end of the project. The community will also come together for a Seder Meal and the fifth graders’ presentation of the Living Stations before Easter break.
