Cathedral Middle School
Student Life
House System
Cathedral Middle School has created a fun way for students to connect and form community with the Cathedral House System. Every student, teacher, and staff member is placed in a House named after one of our school values - the House of Gratitude, the House of Compassion, etc. Throughout the school year, houses engage in fun projects together and also friendly competition between houses, fostering a sense of belonging through teamwork. Throughout their middle school years students will remain in the same house and form lasting friendships that help build and maintain community across the whole school. Students also get the opportunity to develop trusted relationships with teachers and staff outside of the classroom as well, which greatly benefits the overall school culture and feelings of belonging, support, and community during this pivotal time in student development.
Service Learning
Cathedral centers service to others as an integral part of the development and formation of our students. From teaching humility and gratitude as well as respect, responsibility, and relationship, Service Learning is a means to create leaders in our community who are compassionate and caring as modeled after Jesus, and who find meaning, value and purpose in their ability to impact our world and our community.
At the Middle School level, students engage in service opportunities out in the community in small group projects that emphasize the importance of teamwork and give real-life examples of the power we can have if we work together for the common good. From volunteering at local food shelters to writing letters to the Children’s Hospital to visiting nursing homes, our middle school students are encouraged to see the inherent value in everyone, extend and expand their blessings into the world, and share their love and light in meaningful ways.
Opportunities to Shine
Students can discover and develop their God-given talents with the multitude of fine arts options, diverse activities, and renowned athletics programs available to pursue and explore.
