Over the summer, all Catholic Community Schools administrators, faculty, and staff received training in The I Love U Guys Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP). This training strengthens our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Students and families may hear new terms at school, including Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. These standardized terms provide a common language so that students and adults can respond quickly, calmly, and consistently during an emergency.
Staff have also been trained in the Standard Reunification Method, which provides a consistent process for safely accounting for students and bringing them back together with parents or authorized caregivers following an emergency or significant disruption. While we hope these protocols are never needed, preparedness helps reduce confusion and uncertainty when it matters most.
Safety is a shared responsibility, and we encourage families to become familiar with the terminology their children may hear at school. By using a consistent approach across Catholic Community Schools, we can help ensure that our response is calm, organized, and focused on the safety and well-being of every child.
