Deeply Rooted, Growing Stronger Capital Campaign Kicks Off!

On February 19, CCS hosted the kick-off event for the Deeply Rooted, Growing Stronger capital campaign. Community members, parents, alumni, grandparents, and staff gathered at the North Building Commons to learn about the campaign and connect with fellow supporters over food and drinks. Bishop Patrick Neary spoke about the campaign's significant impact on the future of Catholic education in St. Cloud and emphasized the importance of its success.

CCS President David Fremo delivered an inspiring presentation outlining the campaign’s goals. The first goal is to offset the loan taken out to complete the new North Building, which has become a vibrant hub for our learning community. As David stated, “Supporting the needs of Cathedral’s campus is central to the mission of CCS as a preschool through 12 Catholic school system. Over 90% of the students here attended our elementary schools.”

Student ambassadors led tours of the building, including visits to both the old and new boiler rooms, highlighting the campaign’s second goal—updating the HVAC system to ensure a comfortable and safe learning environment for all.

David Fremo also highlighted the campaign's third goal: continued support for elementary school staff and programming. He quoted C.S. Lewis: “‘The task of the educator is not to cut down jungles but to irrigate deserts.’” He added, “We have amazing educators: they’re knowledgeable, experienced, credentialed, devoted, and eager to grow in their own learning and development.”

Campaign Chairs and current Cathedral parents Missy and Josh Longnecker spoke passionately about their faith in CCS leadership’s vision and encouraged everyone to reach out to them to learn more about the campaign. They can be reached at  longneckermissy@gmail.com and joshua.longnecker@nm.com.

Current parents recently received a letter and packet from President David Fremo with detailed information about the campaign. For this campaign to succeed, we need everyone’s support. We ask that you prayerfully consider a pledge over the three-year campaign. Please visit www.ccsprek12.org/capital-campaign for more information and to make your pledge.

Contact Director of Development John Haws at jhaws@catholiccommunityschools.org if you did not receive a packet or if you have any questions about ways to give to the campaign.
