Professional Development News - LETRS Training Success!

SPRING 2026 CCS NEWSLETTER

We are excited to share wonderful news about Catholic Community Schools and our commitment to strong literacy instruction!

Almost all of our CCS elementary teachers and principals have completed LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training and the remainder will finish within the next year. This is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the dedication of our faculty.

LETRS equips teachers with a deep understanding of how students learn to read and provides research-based strategies to effectively teach reading, spelling, and language skills. While it is not a curriculum, it strengthens how we deliver instruction to ensure all students — including those who need additional support — can become confident, capable readers.

The training requires more than 140 hours of professional learning, including in person training, study, application activities, and guided sessions.

We are incredibly proud of our CCS educators. Their commitment to professional growth will have a lasting impact on our students and our mission to form strong readers, thinkers, and leaders.

Please join us in congratulating our teachers and principals on this outstanding achievement!
