All Saints Academy: Developing Integrated Learning Opportunities

School-wide STEM Project:

This year, ASA will embark on a school-wide STEM (Science, technology, Engineering, and Math) project, involving both staff and students in collaborative learning. Our new STEM teacher, Connie Troke, is eager to lead the development of our STEM program. With years of experience teaching middle school science, she brings great enthusiasm to her new role.

Outdoor Learning: The School Garden

In its second year, the ASA school garden produced enough to prepare a batch of spaghetti sauce for lunch, offer fresh tomatoes and melons, and serve potatoes to all students. In the spring, Ms. Troke and Mr. Terhaar, both former farm kids, will teach students about seed germination, optimizing plant cultivation, and preparing ideal growing conditions. In the fall, students will focus on harvesting vegetables and fruits, along with understanding the nutritional benefits of fresh produce.
